The Departmen had allocated an amount of R 4 000 000.00 through the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) in previous years and in the 2015/2016 financial book year and another R2 000 000.00 in 2016/2017. financial book year to ensure sustainable development at Henkries farm. We plan to establish 15 ha of medjool dates in the near future to be competitive and profitable in the market. This will involve among other activities the construction of bulk water supply and irrigation system, soil preparation and planting of trees.
All employees/beneficiaries are on the Department’s payroll for now.
